ONEderful Bangalasia Debate

First of all, apologies for the week length delays. My brother came back to Malaysia and Chinese New Year came swiftly after that. But fear not, here I am back again.

Judging on the title of my post, I reckon most of us are more than familiar on the video that has been garnering highlights currently. Still for those who are not Malaysians, here's the video to give you a clue on what Malaysians are currently getting updates.

If you have the slightest knowledge on Malaysia politics, you'd know that Teresa Kok, the opposition party is taking a swipe at the current ruling political party.

I find it entertaining up to a point only. Watching it once was more than enough.

Latest update at the moment is that the government is currently investigating this video for seditious or defaming claims.

I find it hard to believe.

Why is the government so engrossed with such a minor prank pulled? Aren't there more serious stuffs to look at?

Plus, looking at other countries, particularly EU countries or the US. Making fun of the government isn't something old. It has been practiced since the very early ages. Until the freedom of speech granted the rights to finally voice out one's though loudly, I don't think that talking behind a country's leader wasn't unheard of.

Sorry to use harsh words, but here is my verdict on the government: They are lost. Totally lost. What is important? What is urgent? What is the right thing to do? What is the right thing to say?

Another issue that shocked me too is the banning of Namewee's Bangalasia. Due to various unacceptable reasons (please gauge them yourselves in the following video), Bangalasia will not be shown in cinemas.

Food for thought: Why movies in the US or other countries are allowed to portray virtual destruction of the government, but here in Malaysia, our government are so afraid for a pinch of comedy?

I know criticizing the government can sometimes go overboard, but hey, it's already something a politician should foresee and endure if he or she fails to deliver or to make the lives of the people better.

I'll end it with a Malay idiom which is synonymous to everyone of us: "Siapa yang termakan cili, dia yang rasa pedas"

Literally meaning:" Who ever who's eaten the chilli, he or she will feel the spiciness". Why be bothered by some a cheap swipe and dig if it isn't for real?

Time

Hey peeps. How are you doing? February is just around the corner!

Time flies! Where are you in terms of progress in your resolution?

It's already week 4. That means 48 weeks before 2015 comes!

Perhaps you haven't got started on anything yet. But always remember what you set and planned at the beginning of the year.

Unless you're just planning and making resolutions for the sake of making them, then it's time to put some gears into them.

A week may seem like little time when you have 52 of them. But do realize one fact that time is still time.

Each week passes is around minus 2% in your total time available to you in a year. So by the end of January, you will already have less than 90% of time remaining to make 2014 count.

I think setting a day to day schedule, breaking down my resolutions into daily steps to take, does help so far. Now I just need to have the persistence and make it a die hard habit.

Cheers peeps, and may we all countdown towards Chinese New Year.

Pain

"You'll always feel it (pain) Sherlock. But you don't have to fear it"
- Jim Moriarty (BBC Sherlock, 2014)

Wise words indeed. What more from a villain. A nemesis.

It is not always we have a soft spot for antagonists. I know plenty of girls out there who are rooting for Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in Thor (seriously I really like Loki as Loki, not because of Tom. Was relieved that he wasn't really dead).

Same goes to Jim Moriarty. Though I got to know he wasn't dead spoiler (ooops did I spoil it for someone else too?), it was actually nice to know that Moriarty survives.

Not because I'm a dark villain myself or I condone evil (well maybe I do? Just haven't showed my true colors yet :p). Sometimes it's just a matter of fact of perspectives.

Back to the pain issue. Here I am, after a 5km run, something I decided to forgo yesterday as I was half dead after a morning futsal session. My body still aches but after spraying some pain relieve, I continued with my planned schedule.

What I wanted to remind myself yet again is, pain is a feeling. Not fearing it is a state of mind. And true by going against the pain barrier, you break and rebuild yourself to become stronger. Better.

I restarted the ab crunching exercise which brought me my almost perfect abs sometimes back ago. The pain was all so familiar. I couldn't even finish the whole 240 crunches when I first started.

But now, finishing 240 crunches leaves me in pain. But not agony. Because just the state of mind of not fearing the pain that I am to endure, I am more resilient to the pain and aches now.

Applying this philosophy in life. And I'm sure you will no doubt rewrite your own limits.

If better, the limits of mankind :)

1st Day In England, I realized

1. That the living standards here is quite okay (from a Malaysian's perspective). £4 for a hearty and economic meal is something you can't really find back in Malaysia
Cheap!

2. You can find machine selling condoms at the public toilets.

3. The people here are quite friendly. Met some excellent chaps who did their part in providing tourists vital information.

And yeah blogging on my phone is quite a nuisance.

Siezing Chances, Realizing What You Want

Sometimes, you just have to seize the chance when it arises.

Too much thinking, too much planning, may ultimately cause you to let slip of it.

Either you start on a journey a little unprepared, or you risk whittling away the chances that come across if you always deemed yourself unprepared.

If you really want something, and if you know that failing to acquire it will make you remorseful for the rest of your life, then I say take a leap of faith and let fate unroll itself.

I just did. And I'm glad I did.

Towards a new year, and the many things that I yearn in life. May I have the courage to take the chances that comes forth from hence onwards..

Backdate 25th November 2013: The Relationship Preempt & Aftermath

Don't know whether this is true or not. But here's a scenario.

Usually the guy is the one who courts or goes after a girl. If you are in a relationship and then married, I notice girls would be extra cautious to keep the guys from straying away.

How true is that? I personally find it quite amusing and true till an extent. Guys always sweat their arses to win the heart of a girl. But after marriage and in fear of their husband straying away, I'd say women will put in more efforts to take care of their looks, facial and body size.

Karma? Justice? Up to personal thoughts. I'd say what goes around comes around XD

Just a random post from a Facebook friend which prompted me with such a thought.

What say you?

Am I a masochist?

I'm not sure about this though. Although I am suspicious.

No not in terms of others, but in terms of pressure. Mental pressure. I seem to enjoy it.

Yes I seem to react aloud when something really impossible comes out of the blue during work. But rather than wave it aside as "un-doable", I'll push myself to think and think and think.

The whole struggling process gets me into a mindblown situation, it's stressful and gets me emotional some time. But at the same time when your brain is working that hard that the adrenalin is so dope... Makes you nuts yet so good at times...

During times when I maybe slightly free, I feel restless. Even sometimes during weekend, I feel that need to have that kick of pressure into my system.

From what I see, it's a good sign. It means that I have finally grew out of my complacent stage, where lazing and doing nothing was an absolute satisfaction.

I'm ready for big things to come. And I'm ready to rule the world.

And this is not a proper what-I've-learnt post. More of a self-realization.

Are The Chinese Literates More Gullible?

Note this may not be a lesson or a learning, but a finding that I am trying to find out for quite sometime.

Why?

As a Gen-Y dude who spends quite a number of hours on the net (self confessed yes), I'd say that the info I get before I post or share are valid and solid to a certain degree of truthfulness.

So when I find facebook posts that are suspicious or those I deem absurd and nonsensical, that;s what kicks me to my probing mode.

So here's the current scenario: I think (please, support is needed) that there are quite a number of Mandarin facebook posts that may not be reporting a true scenario or information. But that's not all. The real shit starts happening when most of my friends keeps re-posting or re-sharing a specific fake post.

One good example would be the new iPhone speculations (classic I would say). This would come out of the blue, where some mumbo jumbo claims that there is a leak on design and functionality of the latest iPhone, which gets everyone excited. But as someone who scours the Internet daily, you don't need to be a hardcore Apple fan to know that such news are bollocks. Same goes to those "like-and-share" pages where they donate money or pick free winners for some too good to be true prize.

I am truly amaze by the endless possibility the internet can bring to us. But I am also truly amaze that how shallow or gullible one can be, easily swayed or take the words of an unverified site's info seriously.
It's not that I'm purposely drawing a scenario where I paint myself higher and better than others, but seriously, I can't stand ignorance and stupidity. I know I'm being a bit harsh on the words, but I couldn't find any milder words.

Just that when it comes to facts, I would settle nothing more than the truth or logic opinions.

P.S.  Seriously after living so long on Earth, I thought we all should be clear on what Apple's marketing strategy is (you don't need to study marketing to know the truth). Until the day of the launch comes, you ain't knowing no shit about the coming new gadget.
