1st Day In England, I realized

1. That the living standards here is quite okay (from a Malaysian's perspective). £4 for a hearty and economic meal is something you can't really find back in Malaysia

Cheap!

2. You can find machine selling condoms at the public toilets.

3. The people here are quite friendly. Met some excellent chaps who did their part in providing tourists vital information.

And yeah blogging on my phone is quite a nuisance.

Ants That Move like Solid and Liquid

Ants. Solid. Liquid. They don't seem to have a correlation at all for me until this morning.

It seems that fire ants in a small colony or group can exhibit a very jaw dropping effect: they can behave as a solid or as a liquid.

Tesla Motors

So there are electric sports cars up for grabs now. My oh my.

I knew there were electric cars, even we can buy a specific model here in Malaysia (Mitsubishi's i-miev)

 

Now granted that it doesn't look very stylish. Perhaps this is why I still don't see any of this models on Malaysian road.

But Tesla Motors are already building electric sports cars. Don't know about the performance wise, but will check it out one of these days!

Siezing Chances, Realizing What You Want

Sometimes, you just have to seize the chance when it arises.

Too much thinking, too much planning, may ultimately cause you to let slip of it.

Either you start on a journey a little unprepared, or you risk whittling away the chances that come across if you always deemed yourself unprepared.

If you really want something, and if you know that failing to acquire it will make you remorseful for the rest of your life, then I say take a leap of faith and let fate unroll itself.

I just did. And I'm glad I did.

Towards a new year, and the many things that I yearn in life. May I have the courage to take the chances that comes forth from hence onwards..

The Oedipus Complex

It's surprising that reading a book on classical mythology could somehow link me to psychosexual.

According to myth, there was a prophecy that Oedipus would end up killing his father. Upon his birth, his parents abandoned him to starve to death.

But Oedipus got rescued, made the prophecy real - he killed his own father and married his own mother.


Oedipus complex refers to a child's desire to sexually possess the parent of the opposite sex. Funny though the name was so familiar as I took psychology back when I was in University.

Learning the complex was one thing. Learning how it was coined does indeed keeps the lesson in your head, I think.

The Copenhagen Wheel

LOL another tech update.

But this simply blows me away. We have always thought of electric cars. Well perhaps we already had electric bikes sometime ago. But I think the Copenhagen Wheel is different.

It isn't just an ordinary hybrid bicycle. It's a new age technology and innovation.

The Rape of Europa and Modern Europe - Connecting the Dots

I'm reading Classical Mythology currently. Just a brief insight. It's the same series of as the previous book I've read - The Bible.

So what have I learn was that there is a mythological source of the naming of Europe, one of the continents in the world.

True or not, according to myths, Europe was named after Europa, a Phoenician princess whom Zeus abducted. Tempted by Europa, Zeus transformed himself into a bull, deceived Europa and took her on his back to Crete.

Now you would ask me:"How is it that both Europe and Europa has the same connection, apart from the "a" and "e"?

Well coincidentally, if you would noticed around Europe, seeing a symbol of a woman on top of a bull shows a great connection between Europa and Europe. Whether it is on the coins, or other places, you can't help but imagine that the coincidence is way too obvious.

Although ancient religion are now mere myths and fiction, I'm in awe that these symbols still have an impact in the world we're living.

People may change their believes, adopt a new religion, but it is impossible to let go of that piece of myth, that makes history much more than a record of times. Mythological insignia, will always be a symbol of who we are.

Cooking 101

Recently I have this kick or knack to watch Gordon Ramsay through youtube.

And it slowly got to Jamie Oliver too.

One thing that I can never deny is - I love eating.

And it's hard to not want to learn to cook and just be an eater.

Good thing I studied Food Tech. It makes me more attentive to the different kinds of cooking methods available.

Top that up with some basic science knowledge, I think my basic is good.

Here are a list of the many different cooking methods. It may not encompasses everything, but it's good enough to help differentiate the one's that we thought were synonymous.

Busting the Diabetic Myth

"Eating sweet things will lead to diabetic problems."

We have been taught that. And it makes sense. Eat something high in sugar and your sugar levels in your blood becomes too high, that it leads to diabetes.

Little that we all know that the correlation is not as straightforward as that. It involves some pretty scientific explanation and more justification to get diabetes from consuming too much sugary food.

This lesson came to me while I was trying to find out some answers regarding an on-job problem that hit me.

We've got a consumer complaining about seemingly high sugar content in our products. So here I am with a fresh new lesson learned, and busting the obnoxious claim or myth that has always haunt us.

The Faith Dealer (From Readers' Digest March 2013

I came across this particular article about a man who spends his money funding and teaching English in Thailand.

His name is Ben Bowler. He hails from Australia, and in one particular talk that he has attended, he was moved to change the world.

He may not be ultra and super rich, but he is doing his best to make this world a better place.

Too bad I couldn't find the article online. But you guys should try to google or get your hands on the article though.

What I've learn is, you don't have to wait until you're mega rich to start changing the world. You can start doing it on this very moment. And I think the habit of giving back to society, the thought of trying to make the world a better place, will drive you to achieve more miracles than you can ever expect.

It stands for Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument.

Basically, you answer a list of questions, and based on the answers, you will be categorized under a possible 4 categories, which are:

• A. Analytical thinking

Key words : Auditive,logical, factual, critical, technical and quantitative.

Preferred activities : collecting data, analysis, understanding how things work, judging ideas based on facts, criteria and logical reasoning.

• B. Sequential thinking

Backdate 25th November 2013: The Relationship Preempt & Aftermath

Don't know whether this is true or not. But here's a scenario.

Usually the guy is the one who courts or goes after a girl. If you are in a relationship and then married, I notice girls would be extra cautious to keep the guys from straying away.

How true is that? I personally find it quite amusing and true till an extent. Guys always sweat their arses to win the heart of a girl. But after marriage and in fear of their husband straying away, I'd say women will put in more efforts to take care of their looks, facial and body size.

Karma? Justice? Up to personal thoughts. I'd say what goes around comes around XD

Itinerary Plannning

So yeah, I am listing down all the POI (Places of Interest) for my vacation. I know my bro and mum have been doing a lot for this trip. So I figured out to chip in abit of my expertise and effort.

So here am I, updating my blog in the midst of building my master template. I don't know how good it is, but it has all the relevant information, which includes the name of the place, prices, opening and closing time, special close occasion, how to go (tube, train or bus), address and phone number.

So here is the snapshot of my progress. So you know where I'm going now? Hahahaha :)
